07/30/2011: Sound the Trumpet Loud & Clear

Sound the Trumpet Loud & Clear

In Ghana

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” Isaiah 58:1.

“And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what it piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:7, 8.

We are in the last days of this world’s history, and Satan has intensified his efforts to capture the whole world by turning into an angel of light and working through some pastors to confuse people through false teachings. Paul says: “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.” Romans 10:2.

With the present truth the Lord has given me, He put it on my heart to travel about 60 kilometers in the Brong Ahafo Region to spread the gospel. This village has a population of about 2,000 and is dominated by “The True Faith Church,” who know nothing about the third angel’s message and have just a small knowledge of the Sabbath. May our Heavenly Father bless Sister Sharnah Welty of the United States, and her family, because she made my trip easier by donating a Hyundai bus to me.

I went to Fawohoyeden with a team of five to do door-to-door work and dawn preaching to prepare the fertile ground for the seeds to be sown. As the first step toward the effort, I went to the Assemblyman and the unit Committee Chairman for permission to hold the crusade. They gladly agreed. Thereafter, I proceeded to the Chief’s palace, to meet all the sub-chiefs who were holding a meeting there. When they saw we were God’s messengers, they paused and asked about our mission. After we told them our mission, they became very happy, and even told us that if we needed any help, we could consult them, for they wished to have the whole township converted to Christ.

By January 25, 2011, everything was ready—crusade grounds, chairs for seating, the electricity connection and benches. We started playing spiritual songs and waiting for the audience. The crowd that came for the first night’s program was so overwhelming that we had to rent more chairs for the second night. While it is true that not many of them are coming to church, we give all the glory to God that we had such a large crowd for the whole ten-day outdoor preaching event. After all, our work is twofold, first to give the warning message as a witness and second to prepare and baptize those who would believe and join the church. We have been praying to God to help us to be faithful in this line of duty.

We are having a serious problem in Ghana with electricity. On the second day, as I had reached the peak of my message, we had a blackout for thirty minutes, and no one had a power generator to be hired there in the village. But the audience stood with us in the darkness until the lights came back on for me to continue the lesson. This happened twice. My prayer is that the Lord will help me to get a generator so that we would not have to experience these interruptions in power.

Still the Lord blessed us in spite of our difficulties, and everyone was happy with all the topics presented. Again, I used a PowerPoint presentation with meaningful photo slides to support everything said. We felt that the Holy Spirit was leading everything in a special way. We continued to pray that the people’s interest would remain high, and we chose a prayer band to keep praying every night while the preaching was in progress.

The day I presented the Sabbath, the change of the Sabbath and the anti-Christ (666), a fifty-year-old man, named Anthony Asare, from the Church of Pentecost, came to me. He told me that he had been about to travel but had postponed the journey because he had never heard such messages in his entire life. At this time of writing, Anthony has become a Sabbath keeper. He has worshipped with us for three Sabbaths now.

Our crusade came to an end successfully, with many people surrendering their lives to Christ. This blessed us, and we have started Bible studies with as many as 20 new converts. Mr. Anthony Asare, who has been repeating his thanks to God for not leaving him to perish in his sins, has been the first person to arrive at the church. In his leisure time, he comes to my house for further studies. He is always praising the unfailing love of God for allowing him this particular opportunity to hear this message. Secondly, Mr. Johnson Donkor, an educator, sent a message to me to come to his house. While there, he examined my Bible and opened every page to determine if I had a different version, to prove that all these truths are in the Bible! He asked me questions on the subjects of speaking in tongues and the payment of tithes. All of the quotations in the Bible that I read to testify to these facts were noted so that he could read them for himself. He has also joined the group with which we are studying. Two friends, who had backslidden  from the Adventist faith for two years, came and confessed what the crusade had done for them and have renewed their covenant with God in keeping the Sabbath.

We thank God that the trumpet which sounded loud and clear has attracted souls who were perishing because of the false teaching of some pastors and who now have embraced the truth. National Sunday Law, Behold He Cometh and Steps to Christ were distributed at the crusade grounds. We are doing follow-up work through door-to-door visitation to reach those who listened to the message of warning from us and were converted, so that they may have the opportunity to inquire about what they have heard.

Eleven people will be baptized very soon. Many people are also in the valley of decision, because the number of people studying with us continues to increase. On the first Sabbath after the meetings, we worshiped with eight new converts.

We need your prayers on their behalf. Our goal is to get a piece of land to build a church to prepare these precious souls for Heaven. God has been so faithful to us in His Word, and we pray that we can do our part faithfully in His vineyard.

My greatest needs now are for a generator and a digital camera. Please, if the Lord touches your heart, remember this need for His work in Africa. Amen.
