Deborah sharing the eight laws of health

We have been given the high calling of being “the light of the world” and of letting our “light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14, 16. While Jesus is the bright shining light of the sun in this dark and dreary world, He calls us to be little lights reflecting His light to those still groping in the darkness. Sister White was given a vision of the darkness of this world, and also of the solution to the “gross darkness” covering the earth and the people. (Isaiah 60:2) “I looked to the world as it was in dense darkness. The agony that came over me was indescribable as I saw this darkness. Again the word came, ‘Look ye.’ And again I looked intensely over the world, and I began to see jets of light like stars dotted all through this darkness; and then I saw another and another added light, and so all through this moral darkness the star-like lights were increasing. And the angel said, ‘These are they that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and are obeying the words of Christ. These are the light of the world; and if it were not for these lights, the judgments of God would immediately fall upon the transgressors of God’s law.’ I saw then these little jets of light growing brighter, shining forth from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and lighting the whole world. Occasionally one of these lights would begin to grow dim, and others would go out, and every time this occurred there was sadness and weeping in heaven. And some of the lights would grow brighter and brighter, and their brightness was far-reaching, and many more lights were added to it. Then there was rejoicing in heaven. I saw that the rays of light came directly from Jesus, to form these precious jets of light in the world.” Gospel Workers (1892 edition), 378, 379. May we each be those shining lights in our small spheres, and together we can illuminate the world!

I am so thankful for all of the jets of light that the Lord has around the world! Sometimes it is hard to see the impact that our little lights can make, but as long as we keep our “lights burning” (Luke 12:35), the Lord will work through our light bearing. One of those lights that is burning for the Master is Sister Deborah Ndione who is working in the predominantly Muslim country of Senegal. Although the work moves slowly, the Lord continues to open doors for her as she works through medical missionary work and her self-supporting work of teaching English. Senegal has been largely spared from the ravages of Ebola, but because of the close proximity of Senegal to the countries where it had become epidemic, it became an opening to share the health message with those who otherwise may have been uninterested. Deborah has been able to share in churches and villages simple steps that God has given us to help combat any disease, such as immune system strengthening and trust in God, not fear. Recently Deborah met a Baptist lady, Martha, who runs a center to help women learn skills such as sewing and tie-dying that would enable them to generate a better income. Deborah was able to share about God’s eight natural doctors along with simple remedies that they can use for common ailments. Now they want her to come back and go more deeply over each of these eight doctors. Praise the Lord for the health message which can open doors to develop relationships with people through which we can share even greater truths from God’s word! Please continue to pray for Deborah and others who are shining as jets of light throughout countries that are difficult to reach. As they continue to let their lights shine, others are seeing a difference and are wanting to know more. If you would like to help Deborah’s work, please mark you donation, “Senegal.”

Yours in shining for the Master,
